SST Online has developed 2 HD² Premium services now available to members at no additional cost. To take advantage of the new features you should have a broadband internet connection, i.e. cable, DSL or satellite and a current browser, i.e. Explorer 6.0+ or Firefox 2.0+, and at least 512 MB of RAM (physical memory). You will also need the free "Java" and "Adobe Flash" player plug-ins for your browser. You probably already have the plug-ins as Microsoft XP and Vista include them as do the newer Apple operating systems. Below are links to samples of the 2 new services. Give them a try and let us know what you think!

HD² Premium interface sample page This new high resolution, high detail interface will allow members to see twice the resolution of our previous charts and will allow the user to create and print custom charts with user created waypoints to their boundary specifications. You can decide what areas are important to you by dragging the full image in the display window. Again, these are large files that may take a few seconds to load before the application is ready to use, but the wait will be worth it - and the fact that you do not have to install any other software continues to make SST Online unique and easy to use.

HD Premium Image Loop sample page This exciting new feature allows members to choose any range of dates and see a movie loop of daily charts comprised of multi-merged images. You can further customize the loop by changing the speed (frames per second), zoom factor and display area of the chart. In addition to the on-screen control buttons, corresponding keyboard presses will allow control of the movie as well. Using the keyboard, you can move forward or backward in the loop, as fast or as slow as you would like, frame by frame. The charts used for this feature are large multi-merged images. Using multi-merged images avoids some of the cloud cover and other interference that is often seen on daily charts. Multi merged images are a composite of shots covering a 24 hour period. You will see the Gulf Stream and its eddies like you have never seen them before!

NOTE: Try not to have any other programs running when you use this feature. Do not load more than 30 to 60 days of images at a time as this may cause unpredictable results. A minimum of 512K of RAM is recommended for 30 days of images, 1GB for 60 days of images. Each image must load directly to your computers memory. If you run out of RAM, the images will load on your hard drive and may not play smoothly at higher frame rates.
